Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Lean Technical Specialist to drive Lean transformation across manufacturing operations. You will lead Kaizen events, map value streams, and guide problem solving to implement improvements with safety and ergonomics in mind.

You will partner with operations, engineering, and leadership to embed Lean into daily management while mentoring teams and supporting capital projects. A strong Lean background is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, industrial technology, or a related field is required.
• 3–7 years of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or industrial engineering experience.
• Experience with Lean tools: VSM, Kaizen, SMED, 5S, standard work, takt time, flow, pull systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean transformation activities and guide structured improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and problem solving using A3/PDCA.
• Provide technical direction to teams and embed Lean into daily management.
• Support capital projects and new product/process introductions with Lean principles.
• Coach employees across levels to build Lean capability.
