Job summary

Daikin Applied Ltd. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to join a leading HVAC organization in Minnesota. The role focuses on representing manufacturing on new product programs, improving producibility and leading lean initiatives across cross-functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, define equipment needs and drive cost reductions while collaborating with quality, supply chain and maintenance to optimize factory performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent technical, scientific or engineering degree.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Solidworks, AutoCAD 2D, MS Office and MS Project experience.
• Sheet metal fabrication and assembly using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, including cellular manufacturing and Demand Flow Technology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Represent manufacturing on new product programs and drive producibility improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to optimize production processes and provide cost information.
• Provide manufacturing support to NPI teams, adjust process flow and design tools/fixtures.
• Define equipment and tooling, solicit quotes, and manage projects from inception to training.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction events, including cross-functional kaizen events.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and occasionally act as trainer on projects.
• Evaluate capital equipment investments and justify purchases; oversee installation.
• Analyze labor standards, production times, staffing needs, and costs for process improvements.
• Improve workforce utilization and facility layout using lean principles and workstation optimization.
• Collaborate with ME team to create work instructions, training checklists and safety/ergonomics focus.
