Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas in Faribault, MN, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to help improve production, mentor engineers, and lead cost-reduction initiatives with lean practices. You will collaborate with quality, supply chain, and maintenance teams to optimize processes and support new product introductions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Industrial Technology or related field and 5+ years of experience, with SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2D, MS Office, and MS Project proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2D, MS Office and MS Project experience.
• Sheet metal fabrication and assembly using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, including cellular manufacturing and Demand Flow Technology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline production and lead continuous improvement/cost reduction events.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and support larger projects.
• Lead organizational initiatives and sometimes train staff on projects.
• Apply work measurement techniques to establish labor standards and estimate production costs.
• Analyze operations data to optimize workforce utilization and facility layout.
• Propose strategies to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
• Create work instructions, training checklists, and matrices with safety and ergonomics in mind.
• Support NPI teams on manufacturability and process improvements.
• Define equipment/tool design, solicit procurement quotes, and manage projects.
