Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems for space-engine component production. You will drive DFM/ DFA/ DFT, ensure quality and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and reduce costs.

Relocation is available. The role involves developing documentation, evaluating new manufacturing technologies, and applying AI tools to improve first-pass yield and cycle times in aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience in a manufacturing engineering role with clear progression across levels.
• Experience creating English work instructions.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT) for space components.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space vehicle production.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (machining, welding, additive manufacturing, etc).
• Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; implement corrective actions.
• Ensure alignment with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards; ensure safety and sustainability.
• Participate in FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Apply emerging AI technologies to optimize processes and reduce cycle times.
