Job summary

Blue Origin in Space Coast, Florida is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems across Production/Operations and supply chain.

You will collaborate with design engineering, quality, and production teams to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve timelines, while upholding AS9100/ISO 9001 standards. Relocation is available and travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing/industrial/process engineering.
  • 3+ years creating English work instructions.
  • U.S. citizen/national, permanent resident or eligible.
  • Ability to work second shift and extended hours if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support the industrialization of new products in solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
  • Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
  • Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work aligns with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
