Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement efficient production systems for space vehicle components. You will translate requirements into repeatable processes and work with design, quality, and supply chain teams to drive timelines and cost improvements.

The role involves developing documentation, evaluating new manufacturing technologies, and supporting root-cause analyses to enhance reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0-3 years Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer, 3+ years Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer, 5+ years Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years Sr Manufacturing Engineer.
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to DFM, DFA, DFT for building reliable space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process diagrams.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (machining, welding, additive manufacturing).
• Support root cause analysis of process non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all work aligns with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality and safety standards.
• Apply emerging AI technologies to optimize processes and improve first-time quality.
