Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and implement efficient optical manufacturing processes. You will integrate design requirements into production methods, lead plan development, and ensure compliance with contract specs and regulations.

You will coordinate production flow, source optical equipment, and drive manufacturability improvements while collaborating with design engineering and production teams to scale manufacturing for laser/optical

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years experience in prototyping, manufacturing, testing or calibration of optical imaging systems.
  • Experience scaling production from prototype to production volume.
  • Experience authoring English-language work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA/DFT principles and AS9100/ISO 9001 familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop production flow for optical products and related testing and calibration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build manufacturing cleanroom space.
  • Identify and source optical equipment for manufacturing and manage installation.
  • Plan mid-to-long term production scale according to program needs.
  • Drive manufacturability feedback to design teams and document processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions with FMEAs and risk assessments.
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation across build versions from prototype to production.
