Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to set operations direction for vehicle architectures and define engineering strategies. You’ll ensure manufacturability from inception and provide hands‑on support during demonstrators, prototypes, and builds.

The role requires leading manufacturability assessments, coordinating with program management, design engineering, and operations, and guiding teams through design and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading manufacturing solutions and coordinating across stakeholders.
• Experience defining/reviewing design requirements and producing manufacturing instructions.
• Proven ability to influence design requirements and develop manufacturing processes.
• CAD systems experience: NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks and PLM tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication with leadership audiences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the manufacturing focal for subsystems or AI&T activities and establish manufacturing plans.
• Provide hands‑on support during fabrication, assembly, and testing to validate approaches.
• Drive DFX, conduct producibility assessments, and develop roadmaps for technology gaps.
• Create Production Readiness Level assessments, manufacturing management plans, and tooling designs.
• Identify manufacturing risks with cross‑functional teams and influence decisions.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
