Job summary

Allison Transmission seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes that meet product specifications and quality standards. You will design tooling and oversee the planning of manufacturing processes for a defined area of the plant.

Responsibilities include improving throughput, assuring product and process quality through testing and standards, and supporting launches of new or revised programs with technical leadership and hands-on guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required.
• 1–3+ years experience in grinding, turning, or machining center equipment.
• CNC programming experience with machine control systems.
• Project management experience in machine procurement, cost analysis, and validation.
• Direct manufacturing experience with rotating/reciprocating components, gears, or prismatic parts.
• Preferred: 5+ years experience with Unigraphics and CAD programs.
• Experience in gear/spline manufacturing and gear geometry understanding.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes in line with product specs.
• Design tooling and equipment; plan manufacturing processes for the area.
• Improve production quality by designing testing methods and standards.
• Support manufacturing launch of new or revised programs.
• Provide technical support for plant operations.
