Job summary

Allison Transmission is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Indianapolis, IN to monitor and optimize manufacturing processes and implement new production methods. You will collaborate with the manufacturing manager to maintain standards and drive improvements across equipment and methods.

Qualifications include 7–10+ years of experience, CAD (NX/AutoCAD) proficiency, GD&T, lean principles, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering.
• CAD proficiency (NX and/or AutoCAD).
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledge.
• Experience with machining and assembly of components.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and QS/TS quality systems.
• Strong problem-solving training and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to coach and mentor others and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing systems focusing on quality and throughput.
• Develop process documentation (PFMEAs, routings, flow diagrams).
• Evaluate new machinery and lead tryouts.
• Provide technical support to plant operations.
• Develop cost estimates for major programs.
• Lead capital appropriation projects and document best practices.
