Job summary

Allison Transmission seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for the Indiana plant to monitor and optimize manufacturing processes, analyze efficiency data, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will coordinate the manufacturing process, develop production methods, and support senior management with technical guidance.

The role requires CAD proficiency, GD&T expertise, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• CAD proficiency with NX and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong written and oral communication across functions.
• Ability to mentor and work cross-functionally.
• Experience with GD&T and machine tool specs.
• Lean manufacturing and QS/TS knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing systems with focus on quality and throughput.
• Develop process documentation, PFMEAs, routings, and error-proofing plans.
• Analyze proposals for new machinery and equipment; lead trials.
• Provide technical support to plant operations.
• Develop and implement major capital projects; cost estimates.
• Maintain a physical presence on the shop floor.
