Job summary

Allison Transmission is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to design and optimize production equipment with emphasis on quality and throughput. You will develop process documentation, PFMEAs, routings, and error-proofing plans, and evaluate new machinery for potential implementation.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of experience in manufacturing, with CAD proficiency (NX/AutoCAD), lean principles, and strong cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 7–10 years’ experience in manufacturing or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• CAD proficiency and ability to document specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing systems with focus on quality and throughput.
• Develop process documentation including PFMEAs, routings and process flow diagrams.
• Analyze proposals for new machinery and equipment.
• Lead tryouts and evaluations of new machinery.
• Provide technical support to plant operations.
• Develop and implement major Capital Projects.
• Prepare cost estimates for new programs.
