Job summary

RTX is seeking Manufacturing Engineers to join a team that develops and improves manufacturing processes for aerospace and defense applications. You will study product specifications to determine designs and methods that support customer requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM major, obtained by start date.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Project, or Word).
• Experience with CAD solid modeling tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs.
• Supporting daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP.
• Dispositioning non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required.
• Driving Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs using Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making.
• Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
• Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes.
• Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence.
