Job summary

Rolls-Royce is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer – CMC Machining (Ceramic Matrix Composites) to scale an R&D process to full production in Indianapolis, IN. The role collaborates with Capability Acquisition, Automation, and Digital Engineering to deliver robust, scalable manufacturing solutions.

You will own the industrialization phase, maintain core process quality, and work cross-functionally to enable automation, validation, and continuous improvement in throughput and reliability.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of engineering experience or
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of engineering experience or
• Master's degree in Engineering or JD/PhD in Science, Technology or Engineering or
• In lieu of a degree 6+ years of engineering experience
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required to be considered

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand the existing R&D process developed at the HTC site.
• Serve as the process owner during industrialization, maintaining core principles and quality during scale-up.
• Collaborate with Capability Acquisition, Automation, and Digital teams to develop scalable manufacturing solutions.
• Support process optimization, documentation, and validation for repeatability, efficiency and quality.
• Drive improvements in throughput, cost, and reliability.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with scaling.
• Integrate automation and digital tools into production processes.
• Maintain a self-directed approach to problem-solving and project execution.
• Act as liaison between R&D and production for knowledge transfer and alignment.
