Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis is seeking a Chief of Manufacturing Engineering - Castings to lead the external supply chain casting capability, directing manufacturing engineering and ensuring safety, quality and delivery targets across the lifecycle.

The role partners with Procurement, Engineering and suppliers to drive readiness, capability and continuous improvement, while developing leadership across the casting engineering community.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering, Science or Technology with 10+ years of Manufacturing Engineering, Quality or Materials experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Technology with 8+ years of Manufacturing Engineering, Quality or Materials experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Science or Technology with 6+ years of Manufacturing Engineering, Quality or Materials experience.
• JD/PhD in a related field is acceptable.
• 12+ years of Manufacturing Engineering, Quality or Materials experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Govern casting manufacturing change by specifying Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements and chairing control authorities.
• Assure product and process integrity by ensuring casting methods comply with health, safety, environmental, product-safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical recommendations for manufacturing readiness for new or changed supplier capability, processes and controls.
• Lead casting industrial strategy and improvement, integrating manufacturing technology, digital manufacturing and category supply-chain priorities.
• Ensure Manufacturing Engineering delivery by aligning workload, capacity and budget with priorities and risks across casting suppliers and programs.
• Lead technical recovery and operational support to resolve complex process, capability, quality or rate constraints and restore performance.
• Build strategic technical relationships with casting suppliers and partners to improve capability and reduce variation.
• Lead the casting Manufacturing Engineering community and develop leaders and talent.
