Job summary

Ashton North LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a plant site in the southwest area of the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area. The role focuses on designing manufacturing processes, analyzing equipment layouts, and improving efficiency while supporting capital equipment investments.

The candidate will lead design reviews, conduct FMEAs, and participate in cross-functional teams to optimize productivity. Strong tooling, automation, and project management experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
• SolidWorks and MS Office proficiency.
• Must have tooling experience.
• Project management experience to run projects end-to-end.
• Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Experience with zinc or high-pressure aluminum die casting, stamping, finishing or plating; plastics molding acceptable.
• Foundry experience is desired.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D/3D software (SolidWorks).
• Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
• Perform root cause analysis using statistical methods and recommend design/process changes.
• Design and implement production processes for new products and design changes.
• Perform FMEAs on products involving designs, materials, or processes.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve productivity.
• Lead experiments in design of experiments, lean manufacturing, and ROIA.
• Lead design review meetings for new and existing products.
• Create work instructions, statements of work, and inventories.
• Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, fixturing, gauging, and machine design.
