Job summary

Ashton North LLC, located in the Atlanta metro area southwest of downtown, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for our plant site in GA. You will design production tooling with SolidWorks, analyze layouts, and drive efficiency with Lean methods and automation initiatives.

The role reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and focuses on manufacturability, process design, and cross-functional collaboration to meet product specs. Normal hours 8–5, with potential 45–50 hour weeks.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and MS Office.
• Tooling experience is required.
• Project management skills are needed to run projects end-to-end.
• Automation expertise including robotics and PLCs is required.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in heavy manufacturing.
• Foundry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D/3D software such as SolidWorks.
• Implement productivity improvements on existing production lines.
• Conduct root cause analysis using statistical methods and Lean tools.
• Design and implement production processes for new products and changes.
• Perform FMEAs on products involving designs, materials, or processes.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to maximize productivity.
• Lead design of experiments and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Lead design reviews for new/existing products.
• Create work instructions, SOPs, and inventories as needed.
• Oversee automation, robotics, vision systems, and control integration.
