Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a plant site in the southwest area of the Atlanta, GA metro region.

The role will plan and design manufacturing processes, maximize efficiency by analyzing equipment layouts, workflow, and tooling, and ensure product specifications are met. You will work to lead cross-functional teams, implement automation and robotics, perform FMEA, and develop work instructions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• SolidWorks 3D modeling software proficiency; Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Tooling experience is required.
• Project management experience required to run projects end-to-end.
• Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Foundry experience desired; zinc or HP aluminum die casting, stamping, finishing or plating experience considered; plastics acceptable.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D & 3D software (SolidWorks).
• Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend design or processing changes (Lean tools).
• Design and implement production processes for new products and changes.
• Perform FMEA on designs, materials, or processes.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to maximize productivity.
• Lead design of experiments, lean manufacturing, ROIA, etc.
• Lead design reviews for new and existing products.
• Create work instructions, statements of work, spare parts inventories.
• Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, end-of-arm tooling, fixturing, gauging, machine design.
