Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a plant site in the Atlanta metro area. You will design tooling, optimize processes, and lead automation initiatives to improve productivity. A strong background in heavy manufacturing and experience with SolidWorks are essential.

The role requires cross-functional collaboration, FMEA experience, and the ability to manage projects end-to-end. 45–50 hour weeks may occur as needed, with a comprehensive benefits package and 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering.
• SolidWorks and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Must have tooling experience.
• Project management skills to run projects end-to-end.
• Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in heavy manufacturing.
• Foundry experience is desirable.
• Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D & 3D software (SolidWorks).
• Implement productivity improvements on current lines.
• Perform root cause analysis with statistical methods and Lean tools.
• Design and implement production processes for new and existing products.
• Conduct FMEA on designs, materials, or processes.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimize processing.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve productivity.
• Lead design of experiments and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Lead design reviews for new and existing products.
• Create work instructions, statements of work, and inventory planning.
• Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, and tooling.
