Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a plant site in the southwest area of the Atlanta, GA metro area. You will plan and design manufacturing processes, maximize efficiency, and determine parts and tools to achieve goals.

The role reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and involves working standard hours (8–5) with potential 45–50 hour weeks. Benefits include a 401k with 100% match to 5% and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Proficient with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and MS Office.
• Tooling experience required.
• Project management experience to run projects end-to-end.
• Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in heavy manufacturing.
• Foundry experience is desired.
• Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D/3D software (SolidWorks).
• Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
• Perform root cause analysis using statistical methods and Lean tools.
• Design and implement production processes for new products and changes.
• Conduct FMEAs on designs, materials, or processes.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve productivity.
• Lead design of experiments and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Lead design reviews for new/existing products.
• Create work instructions, SOWs, and inventories.
• Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, and controls integration.
