Job summary

Atlas Copco Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize processes, implement continuous improvement, and support new product launches. The role involves cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure manufacturability and readiness in a fast-paced environment.

You will leverage CAD, ERP/MES systems, and Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety on site in Rock Hill, SC.

Qualifications

3–5+ years in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a production environment.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Proficient in CAD and GD&T.
Strong experience with ERP/MES systems (e.g., BPCS) and manufacturing data analysis tools.
Knowledge of Lean, 5S, Kaizen; familiarity with automation, AI and Industry 4.0.
Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities.
Able to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and tolerance specifications.
Fluent in English; MS Office proficiency; strong communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and travel periodically.

Responsibilities

Support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions.
Coordinate tooling and equipment installations, process validations, and employee training.
Lead continuous improvement projects and act as a system administrator for ERP/MES-related activities.
Analyze production performance using data collection, time studies, and line-balancing.
Develop standard work, PFMEAs, tools, fixtures and process documentation.
Communicate process changes and provide technical training to production and engineering teams.
Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and manufacturability reviews.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to validate processes and ensure readiness.
Identify and deploy automation, AI, and Industry 4.0 solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Evaluate technologies like machine vision and smart tooling; document benefits and standardize successful solutions.
