Job summary

Atlas Copco Group is seeking a Project Application Engineer in Rock Hill, SC. You will translate RFQs into customized automation solutions and lead projects from concept through delivery, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Service to meet customer needs.

You’ll develop technical and commercial proposals, manage costs, risks, and schedule, and apply CAD tools to design electromechanical solutions, driving productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree plus at least 3 years in manufacturing or project engineering environments.
• Experience managing complex projects end-to-end and delivering on time and within budget.
• Strong problem solving, and effective communication across diverse teams.
• Knowledge of PLC and Fieldbus programming.
• Basic financial acumen for project costing and pricing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer RFQs and requirements into customized assembly and automation solutions.
• Develop technical and commercial proposals, including project costs, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Manage projects from order through installation, commissioning, testing, and customer acceptance.
• Coordinate with Sales, Service, Engineering, suppliers, and customers to meet timelines and specs.
• Support design and manufacturing of custom electromechanical, tooling, fixture, and automation solutions using CAD and global resources.
• Identify solutions that reduce bottlenecks, improve quality, and boost productivity.
