Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Project Application Engineer to design and deliver customized automation solutions. You will own projects from concept to installation, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Service teams to meet customer needs across automotive and aerospace.

The role requires an engineering degree and at least 3 years in manufacturing or project engineering, plus PLC/Fieldbus know-how and CAD Creo.

Qualifications

Engineering degree (Bachelor's or higher) with at least 3 years in manufacturing or project engineering.
Experience in managing complex projects end-to-end within budget constraints.
PLC and Fieldbus programming knowledge.
Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

Translate customer RFQs and requirements into customized assembly and automation solutions.
Develop technical and commercial proposals, including project costs, financial analysis, risks, and mitigation plans.
Manage projects from order through installation, commissioning, testing, and customer acceptance.
Coordinate with Sales, Service, Engineering, suppliers, and customers to deliver projects on time and to specification.
Support design and manufacturing of customized electromechanical, tooling, fixture, and automation solutions using CAD and global engineering resources.
Identify solutions that remove production bottlenecks, improve quality, and increase customer productivity.
