Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Assembly to optimize the assembly process and drive efficiency across the line. You will monitor technical aspects, coordinate integration, and analyze throughput metrics to maintain standards and enable new production methods.

The role requires a Bachelor degree or equivalent, 5+ years in manufacturing, CAD skills (NX/AutoCAD), and strong problem solving with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or related field.
• Strong analytical and communication skills across functions.
• CAD proficiency with NX and/or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing systems to improve quality and throughput.
• Create process documentation and PFMEAs.
• Evaluate and select new machinery and equipment.
• Lead tryouts and evaluations of new equipment.
• Provide technical support to plant operations.
• Manage capital project budgeting and implementation.
• Document RFQ requirements and best practices.
