Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join the Avionics Network Hardware team. You will develop digital hardware for new products and support existing ones, including recertification, cost-saving initiatives, and troubleshooting with OEMs and field teams.

The role emphasizes high-bandwidth avionics networking technologies, IP block development, and design for cost, manufacturing, and test, with on-site collaboration in Cedar Rapids.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant Electrical Engineering experience.
• Experience in digital electronics design principles is preferred.
• Schematic capture and PCB design experience is required or highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, I2C, USB, LVDS, and SERDES bus technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design circuit boards and layouts to support product lifecycle.
• Support product recertification driven by changes (TSO/PMa).
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in standard product cost.
• Assist production to meet on-time delivery goals.
• Troubleshoot field or OEM-line equipment and manage obsolescence.
