Divergent is seeking a manufacturing development engineer to productionize advanced capital equipment and scale assets such as laser powder bed fusion machines and automated assembly gear. You will own readiness from development through production handoff and work with design, automation, software, and operations teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive DFx, create detailed work instructions, and push for reliable, scalable manufacturing with strong documentation and process discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 1+ years (Engineer II), 5+ years (Senior) or 7+ years (Staff) of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex areas and strong troubleshooting, RCCA, and technical documentation.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary manufacturing development owner for one or more factory modules or subsystems.
• Develop deep technical understanding of systems: architecture, controls, interfaces, failure modes.
• Own manufacturing readiness from development through build, commissioning, validation, and production handoff.
• Lead the development of clear work instructions, SOPs, test procedures, and process documentation.
• Lead troubleshooting, RCCA, and corrective actions to improve reliability and uptime.
• Partner with design, automation, software, and operations to improve manufacturability and execution.
• Drive DFM/DFX, tolerances, process capability, tooling, and cycle time improvements.
• Support design changes through PLM, configuration management, and change control.
• Mentor engineers and technicians to raise standards of ownership and documentation quality.
