Job summary

Divergent is seeking an Advance Manufacturing Engineer to lead day-to-day operations for machining, automated assembly, inspection, and finishing processes in our high‑reliability production environment. You will drive process improvements, toolings, and fixtures to enable scalable manufacturing for aerospace, defense, and automotive programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 8+ years of experience in aerospace or defense industries.
• Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing, robotics, coatings, and inspection/quality.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (Siemens NX, AutoCAD).
• Advanced knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T, tooling, and metrology.
• Experience evaluating, selecting and commissioning machines.
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own daily production execution with floor to resolve issues and ensure throughput.
• Develop and implement best practices, processes, calibration procedures to improve capacity.
• Monitor utilization and WIP flow to align with production targets.
• Act as the technical bridge between design/manufacturing engineering and production teams.
• Lead development and continuous improvement of machining, automated assembly, anodize, inspection, and cleaning work centers.
• Collaborate on programming for 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis CNC mills using Siemens NX CAM.
• Provide feedback on GD&T, tooling, feeds/speeds, and fixturing.
• Introduce standardized strategies, programming conventions, and setup documentation.
• Drive quality assurance using metrology and inspection expertise.
• Lead efforts to integrate new machines and fixturing into production; support commissioning.
• DFM discussions with Manufacturing to improve part manufacturability.
• Develop fixturing strategies for complex geometries and automated machining tech.
• Analyze data to identify trends and root causes, implementing corrective actions.
• Create detailed documentation for consistency and repeatability across shifts.
• Collaborate with software and data teams to integrate production metrics into dashboards.
