Job summary
Divergent is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to bridge design and production, driving scalable, high‑reliability automated machining, assembly, and inspection processes. You will lead process improvements, troubleshoot shop floor issues, and enable rapid iteration to increase throughput and quality.
The role emphasizes hands‑on leadership in machining, automated workflows, metrology, GD&T, and DFM discussions with Manufacturing engineering to reduce complexity and improve
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or defense industries.
- Hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing techniques including additive manufacturing, robotics, coatings, and inspection/quality.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Siemens NX, AutoCAD).
- Advanced knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T, tooling, and metrology.
Responsibilities
- Own daily production execution and resolve issues with the production floor to maintain throughput.
- Develop and implement best practices and calibration procedures to improve capacity.
- Monitor WIP flow and align with production targets.
- Lead development and continuous improvement of machining, automated assembly, and inspection centers.
- Collaborate on programming for 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis CNC mills using Siemens NX CAM.
