Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to own and optimize production equipment across multiple factories. You will bridge equipment engineering, manufacturing, quality, reliability, and operations, applying independent judgment to improve standard work and machine performance.

Responsibilities include transitioning new equipment from qualification to sustained manufacturing, driving improvements in reliability and OEE, and supporting capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics.
• 4–6 years in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, reliability engineering, or related settings.
• Experience launching or ramping production equipment or processes.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and/or controls systems.
• Experience with structured root cause analysis methodologies (RCCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and maintenance teams.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Take technical responsibility for assigned production equipment after qualification.
• Improve reliability, throughput, yield, and OEE on assigned machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and process-related issues.
• Provide production feedback to design engineering on performance and reliability.
• Support RCCA investigations and corrective actions for equipment failures.
• Assist with capital equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp activities.
