Job summary

Divergent in Torrance, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to productionize and scale our advanced capital equipment, including laser powder bed fusion and automated assembly systems. You will own the translation of concepts into repeatable, reliable manufacturing processes and drive improvements across the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 1+ years (Engineer II), 5+ years (Senior) or 7+ years (Staff) of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex areas.
• Strong experience in technical troubleshooting, RCCA, high-quality technical documentation, and/or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary manufacturing development engineering owner for one or more critical factory modules, subsystems, and/ processes.
• Develop deep technical understanding of assigned systems, including architecture, operating modes, controls, interfaces, failure modes, and interactions.
• Own the manufacturing readiness of complex machine systems from development through build, commissioning, validation, qualification, and production handoff.
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of clear, accurate, executable work instructions, standard operating procedures, test procedures, and process documentation.
• Lead complex troubleshooting, RCCA, and corrective action implementation to improve machine reliability, uptime, quality, and repeatability.
• Partner with design engineering, automation, software, operations, quality, supply chain, and R&D to improve manufacturability and execution.
