Unified Talent Group is partnering with a respected mid-sized manufacturing company in the Jamestown, NY area to hire an Accountant to join the finance team. The role supports accurate financial reporting by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end close, and maintaining strong financial reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; associate degree with relevant experience may also be considered.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and closing processes.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with financial modeling and analysis tools.
• Experience supporting a multi-site or complex operational environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post accruals, adjustments, recurring entries, and other journal entries.
• Maintain supporting documentation and confirm that entries have proper authorization.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Complete account reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support general ledger consolidation and financial statement preparation.
• Investigate account discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with finance and site leadership.
• Help ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP.
• Assist with required financial reports, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain internal controls that protect company assets and financial data.
• Support financial planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting.
• Assist with the preparation of financial analyses and key performance indicators.
• Help identify financial risks, cost-saving opportunities, and performance improvements.
• Monitor and report cash-flow trends.
• Support improvements to financial systems, accounting processes, and controls.
• Assist with automation initiatives that improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
