Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be able to interpret in real-time for patients and families across languages.
• Keep accurate logs of interpretation encounters with location, duration, and purpose.
• Coordinate and train staff on telephone language interpretation services.
• Answer calls promptly and maintain professional demeanor.
• May assist with appointment reminders and scheduling interpreters as needed.
• Assist LEP patients in navigating the hospital and services.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation for patient and family communication across languages.
• Translate patient education materials and discharge information as needed.
• Coordinate with auxiliary interpreters to cover requests.
• Document interpretation encounters with relevant data.
• Assist with scheduling, reminders, and dispatching interpreters when necessary.
• Support patient navigation and access to services.
