The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role offering work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the AutoZone MIT program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team, expected to live the pledge, deliver WOW! customer service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team.

The MIT supports the Store Manager in:

• Overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs must complete operational and management training, learn about key business aspects, and demonstrate consistent progress to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.

Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and available openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience is preferred but not required
• Experience analyzing financials, including Profit and Loss statements, is preferred but not required
