The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role providing work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a management team member expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative.

The MIT supports the Store Manager in:

• Overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including managing and analyzing monthly P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs will complete operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are essential for continued consideration for management openings.

Note: Promotion to a Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and availability.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
