The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare individuals for Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. The program duration is approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

As a member of the management team, an MIT is expected to:

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance.
• Support the Store Manager in overall store operations, including management, supervision, and policy implementation.
• Manage financials, analyze and reconcile monthly P&L statements.
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development.
• Oversee inventory management and customer service.

MITs will complete operational and management skills training and learn about AutoZone's culture. Performance and progression through training are essential for consideration for management openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Previous automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required.
