The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a management team member responsible for:

• Store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management, including managing, analyzing, and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs support the Store Manager in overall store operations, complete training, and learn key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are essential for consideration for management openings.

Note: Promotion from MIT to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on various factors including performance and job availability.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
