Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is hiring a Staff Pharmacist to support 24/7 patient care. You will assist the Director of Pharmacy, supervise staff, and oversee unit dose and IV room operations in a busy hospital environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited program, with at least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience and knowledge of pharmacy computer systems. Georgia licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience required.
• Experience and/or training in the general use of pharmacy computer systems required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Pharmacy in ensuring compliant, uninterrupted patient care 24/7.
• Manages pharmacy staff including scheduling and performance evaluation.
• Oversees daily unit dose operations and IV room/OR/ICU satellite activities.
• Performs all duties of a Staff Pharmacist as needed.

Required Hours: Monday-Friday, day shift, some weekend / holiday / evenings / nights based on dept needs.

Responsibilities

Assists the Director of Pharmacy in ensuring that the pharmacy provides superior services, exceeds all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements, and follows all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards of the hospital for the storage and preparation of pharmaceuticals. Ensures that patient care remains uninterrupted, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Responsible for the management of pharmacy staff, including scheduling, performance evaluation, and improvement. Oversees and monitors all daily unit dose operations and all daily IV room and OR/ICU Satellite activities. Performs all duties of a Staff Pharmacist as needed.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited an ACPE school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Pharmacy Required

• 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience Required
• Previous experience and/or training in the general use of pharmacy computer systems Required

Licenses and Certifications

• PHARM-R - Registered Pharmacist Licensed as a registered pharmacist in State of Georgia. Upon Hire Required
