Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist to join our hospital-based pharmacy team. You will handle dispensing, compounding and monitoring of medications for diverse patient populations including infants, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics.

The role requires graduation from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a PharmD/Bachelor's degree and a Georgia license upon hire; hospital experience is preferred but not required. Shift includes 10-hour nights with a Wednesday–Tuesday rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• No experience required; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Georgia Pharmacist license required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet patient and staff needs.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy for patients across age groups, considering dosing, nutrition and disease states.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and ensures accuracy and compliance in order processing.
• Participates in patient-focused clinical activities to optimize medication therapy in a hospital setting.

Required Hours:

10hr shifts with Wednesday through Tuesday rotation. Hours are 9pm-7:30am and 10pm-8:30am

Responsibilities:

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
