Job summary

Harnham is expanding its New York City team and seeking an experienced Permanent Recruitment Manager to drive growth and lead a high-performing desk. This player-coach role combines people leadership with active recruitment, client development, and revenue generation.

You will manage, coach, and develop a team of permanent recruiters while remaining hands-on to grow your own desk, build client relationships, and contribute directly to revenue.

Qualifications

• Experience in permanent recruitment or staffing is essential.
• Demonstrated track record of individual billing success.
• Experience selling to technology, data, analytics, or AI clients is a plus.
• Strong business development and account management skills are required.
• Leadership experience with hands-on market activity is valued.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of permanent recruiters.
• Continue to lead your own recruitment desk and drive revenue.
• Improve team performance via 1:1s, reviews, and coaching sessions.
• Develop new business and expand existing client relationships.
• Support BD, candidate delivery, negotiation, and closing processes.

Harnham is looking for an experienced Permanent Recruitment Manager to join our New York City team and help drive the continued growth of our US Permanent business.

This is a true player-coach opportunity, combining team leadership with individual production. You’ll manage, coach, and develop a team of recruiters while continuing to build your own desk, develop client relationships, and contribute directly to revenue.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of Permanent recruiters
• Continue to run and grow your own successful recruitment desk
• Drive team performance through 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and hands-on coaching
• Develop new business and expand existing client relationships
• Support the team across business development, candidate delivery, negotiation, and closing
• Partner with senior leadership on hiring, performance, and growth strategy
• Help shape and scale the NYC Permanent team as the business continues to grow

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience within permanent recruitment/staffing
• A proven track record of individual billing success
• Recruitment experience within Technology, Data, Analytics, and/or AI
• Strong business development and account management skills
• Someone who enjoys leading from the front and wants to remain active in the market
