Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. seeks a Manager of Employee Benefits to develop and administer benefits programs (health, wellbeing, workers’ comp, leave) at our Jacksonville, FL HQ with some remote flexibility.

You will lead design and execution of benefits, oversee enrollment and vendor relations, monitor costs and compliance with federal/state laws, coordinate retirement plan activities and annual testing, and partner with HR leadership to support a strong workforce.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or 5+ years’ related experience in progressively responsible benefits roles.
  • Experience with brokers, ASOs, and vendor partners.
  • Knowledge of benefits laws and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain benefits programs (health, wellbeing, workers’ compensation, leave).
  • Oversee enrollment processing and vendor coordination; manage budgets and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws; coordinate retirement plan activities and testing.
  • Provide benefits training to management and employees; lead open enrollment.

Job description

This position develops, implements, administers and maintains benefits programs, policies and procedures to include: employee health and wellbeing, worker’s compensation, and other leave programs, while ensuring compliance, competitiveness, and cost effectiveness. This job is located on-site at our Corporate HQ in Jacksonville, FL with some flexibility for remote work (as needed). The Manager of Employee Benefits reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer and is an integral member of the HR Leadership Team.Responsibilities:Ensure the overall competitiveness and relevance of benefits programs. Plays a leadership role in the review and design of various benefits programs and their provisions; makes recommendations for changes and enhancements as appropriateEnsures excellence in the execution of the benefits programs to include oversight, monitoring and successful integration with payroll processesOversight for Employee Health to include worker’s compensation, annual vaccination clinics, reasonable accommodations, and modified duty programsEnsure a robust and comprehensive employee wellbeing programDevelop and implement an effective, comprehensive, and compelling benefits communication strategyControl and monitor costs, analyze and reconcile budget variances and takes appropriate actionParticipates with the HR management team to identify and improve related processes and proceduresEvaluates and analyzes the outcomes of the benefit programs and to include benefit loss and claims control, utilization, enrollment statistics, and the likeStays current on new developments, legislation and best practices and identifies opportunities for the organization to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of its benefits-related programsAssist in ensuring compliance with all federal and state legal requirements including plan documents, summary plan descriptions, vendor contracts, policy manuals, compliance testing, audits, and government filingsCoordinate key relationships with outside vendors/consultants as well as monitor performance and servicesResponsible for the reconciliation of vendor invoices and ensuring payments are made on a timely basisNotifies vendors of all qualified events and changes, and ensures accuracy of online enrollment records, health and flexible spending accounts, and retirement plan accountsActs as a liaison with retirement plan administrator, insurance carriers, and other vendors related to specific employee concerns or benefit problems; ensures accurate and expedient resolutionOversight for annual retirement plan discretionary testingOversight for the organization’s FMLA and other leave programs; including counseling employees on their rights and responsibilitiesProvides training to management and employees relating to benefits plan changesOversees annual open enrollment processRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in related field or minimum 5 years’ related experience in progressively responsible benefits roles requiredKnowledge and proficiency working with brokers, administrative services organizations, and other benefits related partnersAdvanced knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable lawsHR or Benefits Certification highly desirable (PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS)Ability to identify and/or document existing and new processes, as well as evaluate their effectiveness, develop improvements and/or recommend changes or alternativesWorking knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of human resources managementMust be a proactive problem solver and team player who is detail oriented and flexible; a self-starter requiring minimal supervision with the ability to support requests from multiple directionsEnergetic, driven personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlinesProfessional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretionAbility to act with integrity, diplomacy and tact in dealing with sensitive and confidential information and handle it in a secure and safe mannerDemonstrated success balancing the needs of the organization with needs of the employee, while ensuring compliance with and adherence to all applicable HR laws and regulationsAdvanced conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and problem-solving abilitiesOutstanding verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organizationLocation: Corporate office 3599 University Blvd South, Jacksonville, FL 32216.
