Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a supervisory IT professional to lead desktop services, planning, design, development, and support for end-user devices across the organization.

The role oversees desktop technicians, coordinates cross‑functional initiatives, and provides expert guidance on desktop strategies, policies, and processes, ensuring stability and reliable performance.

Qualifications

• College degree in Computer Sciences or related field.
• 3 years' experience in IT Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supervising IT teams.

Scope of Position

Responsible for supervising IT people, processes, and tools that support the desktops and other end user devices for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC).

Position Summary

Serves as the supervisor in the planning, design, development, and support for desktop services for OSUWMC. Supervises teams responsible for the end user desktop support of the OSUWMC?s system and application environments to ensure levels of stability, reliability and acceptable performance. This is a technical supervisory position with required skill sets to supervise desktop technicians. Coordinates some initiatives, including multiple IT areas regarding the integration of support for desktops with overall business/healthcare solutions. Supervises day to day operations of the desktop services area. Individual serves as a subject matter expert for desktop services strategies, procedures, policies, and methodologies. Individual provides direction and insight to management, peers and team members regarding the identification and alignment of activities for the desktop services area.

Minimum Qualifications

College degree in Computer Sciences or related field, and 3 years' experience in IT Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
