Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' hospital-based experience in radiologic technology and mammography.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, positioning, radiation safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mammography exams according to physician orders and protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Gather patient history, screen for contraindications, and explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety.
  • Review images for quality, ensure proper labeling, and maintain documentation in PACS/RIS systems.
  • Operate imaging equipment safely, optimize techniques, and adhere to infection control guidelines.
  • Conduct quality control tests, maintain records, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Support patient positioning, privacy, and dignity, assisting with transfers as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members, providing post-exam instructions and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked environment and support training of new staff.

Job description

Role Overview: A Mammography Technologist supporting multiple imaging facilities within a regional team. Responsible for delivering high-quality, safe mammography exams while providing compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment.
