Job summary

Black Women's Mental Health Institute is seeking a Mammography Technologist to deliver high-quality mammography services across multiple facilities. You will perform exams, review images, and ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of hospital radiology and mammography experience, ARRT-R/ARRT-M certifications, and a commitment to professional development and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Must have ARRT-R and ARRT-M certifications and BLS.
  • Minimum 2 years hospital-based Radiologic Technologist and Mammography experience.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, positioning, radiation safety, and mammography best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mammography exams following physician orders and protocols.
  • Gather patient history, screen for contraindications, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety.
  • Protect patient privacy, ensure comfort, and assist with transfers as needed.
  • Review images for quality, completeness, and first-time acceptance.
  • Operate equipment safely, optimize dose, and maintain infection control standards.
  • Conduct QC tests, document results, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Label, document, and upload images accurately in PACS/RIS; complete charge capture.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in the mammography suite.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients and support training of new staff.
  • Maintain professional communication, documentation, and stay current with required education.

Role Overview: A Mammography Technologist supporting a regional imaging team, delivering high-quality, safe mammography services across multiple facilities. The role involves applying expertise to ensure accurate imaging and a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mammography exams following physician orders and protocols.
