Job summary

MEP Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to support imaging services across multiple facilities as part of the Float Team. The role involves performing mammography exams, ensuring patient safety, and gathering patient history to minimize anxiety.

You will review images, operate equipment safely, and participate in QC and documentation in PACS/RIS systems, while maintaining hygiene and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Accredited Radiologic Technology program completed.
• Minimum of 2 years' hospital-based Radiologic Technologist and Mammography experience.
• Certifications: ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams following physician orders and protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Gather patient history, screen for contraindications, and explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety.
• Protect patient privacy, position patients safely, and assist with transfers when needed.
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining high first-time acceptance rates.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize imaging techniques, and maintain equipment hygiene.
• Conduct QC tests per industry standards, document results, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Accurately label, document, and archive images in PACS/RIS systems; complete procedure billing.
• Maintain a clean, stocked mammography suite, apply shielding, and support infection control protocols.
• Provide clear instructions, address patient questions, and support training of new staff.
• Communicate professionally, work effectively in a team, and stay current with required education and documentation.

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum of 2 years' hospital-based Radiologic Technologist and Mammography experience.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-M (Mammography), and BLS (American Heart Association).
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, positioning, radiation safety, and quality control standards.
