Job summary

Aurora Public Library District is seeking a Digital Services Library Assistant to support the Eola Road Branch in Aurora, IL. You will help run Makerspace programs, teach technology workshops, and assist patrons with digital resources and equipment.

The role emphasizes teaching, reference support, and supervision of Makerspace activities, with a focus on customer service and community engagement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or LTA certificate preferred, or equivalent library experience.
One year programming experience preferred.
Experience with maker equipment preferred.
Spanish language skills strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and/or present or assist in the presentation of programs featuring Makerspace services and technology resources
Teach one functional technology workshops a month
Provide basic reference and readers' advisory services for technology related questions. Refer customers to appropriate staff for further assistance
Assist and supervise customer use of Makerspace equipment and software
Process Makerspace project requests
Assist customers to access and use library resources, including print and digital collections, public rooms, equipment and technology services
