Job summary

Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin, operated by Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Maintenance Worker on a PRN basis to keep hospital facilities safe, clean, and compliant. You will support daily plant operations, perform repairs, and assist with safety inspections while collaborating across departments.

Minimum 2 years in maintenance (hospital setting preferred) with a high school diploma, and basic computer skills. English communication is required to perform duties effectively.

Qualifications

• Operate independently and handle varied building systems and equipment.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments for facility support.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report daily to the Director of Plant Operations on facility conditions and task progress.
• Support quality and productivity standards for equipment and building maintenance.
• Coordinate with other departments to schedule work, priorities, and materials.
• Perform maintenance repairs, remodeling, minor construction, and equipment installs.
• Assist with fire and safety inspections and implement safety protocols with Safety and Security.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing maintenance and repair work to ensure the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of hospital buildings and systems. This role supports daily plant operations and contributes to regulatory compliance and facility improvement.

How You'll Contribute

• Report daily to the Director of Plant Operations on facility conditions and progress of assigned tasks.
• Support the implementation of quality and productivity standards for equipment and building maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments to schedule work, set priorities, and coordinate materials and supplies.
• Perform maintenance repairs, remodeling, minor construction, and equipment installations.
• Assist with facility fire and safety inspections and implement safety protocols in coordination with the Safety and Security Departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate independently and handle a variety of building systems and equipment.
• Collaboration with clinical and administrative departments is expected for facility support.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance; hospital setting preferred.

Skills: Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and regulatory compliance preferred. Basic computer skills required. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
