Job summary

Memorial Physician Practices is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to ensure the upkeep of their facility's environment in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and utility systems, ensuring a safe space for patients and staff.

  • Familiarity with Joint Commission and other regulatory policies preferred.

What we're looking for

In this position, you'll support the upkeep of our facility's physical environment, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems, as well as the hospital grounds. You'll perform general maintenance and repairs, helping ensure a safe, reliable, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

This role also contributes to continuous quality improvement efforts, supporting performance initiatives that enhance overall operations. Working under the direction of the Director of Plant Operations, you'll receive daily guidance and will participate in an every other week on-call rotation, providing essential support when it's needed most.

How you'll contribute
  • Share daily updates with the Director of Plant Operations on facility conditions and any ongoing work
  • Follow company standards and procedures to safely maintain and repair equipment, buildings, and systems
  • Help keep all building systems running smoothly to avoid disruptions in operations
  • Work with different departments to prioritize tasks, plan schedules, and order needed supplies and parts
  • Complete general maintenance work, including repairs, minor construction, and equipment servicing
  • Help keep necessary materials and parts in stock while staying within budget
  • Support efforts to meet state and federal requirements, including energy management standards
  • Assist with fire and safety processes, including inspections and safety procedures
  • Take part in improvement efforts to help make operations more efficient and effective
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School diploma or the equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience with maintenance preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission and other regulatory policy and procedures highly preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
Schedule

Full-time: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and on-call every other weekend.
