Job summary

Rite of Passage is seeking a Maintenance Worker for the Miami Youth Academy in Miami, FL. The role supports a residential program for male youth aged 14 to 18, focusing on a safe, well-maintained environment and adherence to program standards.

You will manage upkeep tasks, assist with facility operations, and ensure compliance with safety and reporting requirements while supporting the organization’s mission to improve youths’ lives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Prior building maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record for past 3 years.
• Ability to pass background clearance, drug screen, and TB test.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Willingness to work 40 hours per week with possible overtime.

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Maintenance Worker at the Miami Youth Academy in Miami, FL

Miami Youth Academy is a moderate-risk residential commitment program for male youth aged 14 to 18. This program provides youth with comprehensive care, treatment, supervision, and evidence-based substance abuse services. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling while in the program. We welcome ALL who are passionate about making a difference! Pay: $21.00 per Hour

Performance-based compensation reviews are conducted annually (2%,4%, or 6%)

• Eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance (at 60 days for Hourly employees and 90 days for Salaried)

To be considered, you should possess a high school diploma. Prior building maintenance experience preferred (general building maintenance, minor electrical, painting, door hardware, minor plumbing, drains, etc.) Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record for the past (3) years. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, and TB test. Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence. Must have excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to work at least 40 hours per week and a designated schedule, with the possibility of a varied schedule and overtime.
