Job summary

Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team. You will perform general repairs, HVAC maintenance, and preventive tasks for guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a safe and comfortable guest experience.

Role requires basic HVAC/plumbing/electrical knowledge, ability to lift 50–100 lbs, and strong English communication. Opportunities include advancement through a Management Development Program and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance experience in a hotel environment is preferred.
• Willing to train to grow into hotel leadership roles.
• Familiar with basic HVAC, plumbing, drywall and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems is a plus.
• Excellent English communication skills; reading and writing fluent.
• Able to lift 50–100 lbs and schedule-flexible, including weekends/holidays.
• Work independently with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance programs.

What you will be doing:

In this role you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, troubleshooting issues to determine necessary repairs, performing routine maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, and assisting with housekeeping duties as needed. You will also be responsible for maintaining the building exterior and responding to work orders and service calls to guest rooms in a timely manner.

Requirements to be successful in this role:

• Prior maintenance experience in a luxury hotel environment is ideal, but willing to train the right hospitality professional looking to grow their career. We are dedicated to thoroughly training & developing our team into hotel leaders through interactive teamwork in a positive work environment!
• Brand experience is ideal
• Familiar with basic HVAC, plumbing, drywall PTAC units and electrical systems
• Knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems is also a plus
• Excellent English communication skills and able to read, write and speak fluently
• Must be able to lift and move objects 50 lbs up to100 lbs
• Schedule flexibility including weekends, and holidays
• Work independently
• Strong work ethic
