Job summary

Canopy by Hilton Memphis Downtown Beale Street is seeking a friendly Hotel Maintenance Technician to keep guest rooms and facilities safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. You will perform general repairs, HVAC maintenance, and preventative maintenance across the property.

Ideal candidates bring prior maintenance experience in hotels or similar environments, strong troubleshooting skills, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance experience in a hotel or similar environment preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to guest room work orders and service calls.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and PTAC systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms and facilities; maintain exterior and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
• Respond promptly to guest room work orders and service calls
• Troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and PTAC systems
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of guest rooms and hotel facilities
• Maintain the building exterior, common areas, and equipment
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and safety concerns as needed
• Assist the Housekeeping TEAM with maintenance-related needs
• Complete work orders and communicate any issues requiring additional attention
• Follow all hotel safety standards and procedures

Requirements

• Prior maintenance experience in a hotel or similar environment preferred; willing to train the right candidate
• Familiarity with basic HVAC, plumbing, drywall, PTAC units, and electrical systems
• Knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
• Excellent English communication skills; able to read, write, and speak fluently
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50-100 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a TEAM
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Strong work ethic and commitment to excellent guest service
